1. Catch up on everything
Whether it be homework or a new Netflix show you've started watching, snow days are the best days to do these things. It allows you to be productive without having to leave the comfort (and warmth) of your own home.
2. Movie day
Invite some friends over, make a nice cup of hot cocoa, grab your coziest sweater and enjoy hours of pure relaxation.
3. Play in the snow
You're never too old to play in the snow. Last year, my college had a snow day and everyone went outside to build snowmen, sled ride on air mattresses, or just to look at everything covered in snow.
4. Clean
You hate the cold and only leaving if you have to. Why sit around and stare at a dirty room when you can pass the time by cleaning it! You'll feel refreshed and have a lingering feeling of accomplishment when finished. It will also feel like a brand new room!
5. Try out some DYI projects
Retrieve those crafts you've had collecting dust in the very depths of your Pinterest board and try them out! You never know how much fun it can be until you try.
6. Make snow cones
Who doesn't love snow cones? When I was little I would just plop down in the snow and eat it. Now, you can be mature and make a treat your friends will love! Go out and put some snow in a cup and drizzle any liquid flavoring over top of it.
7. Call loved ones
Snow is fun but for some of our older families members it can be a burden. Make sure you set aside time to make sure they're doing okay and give them some of your time. It really does mean the world to them.
8. Parking lot fun
For our daredevils - with a lot of snow, comes a lot of ice. Many people I know personally enjoy going to parking lots (with very little to no cars) and spinning around doing donuts! This activity does require a license, four-wheel drive, and an extremely cautious driver.
9. Build a snowman
Nothing makes you feel like a kid again quite like the construction of your perfect snow friend. Grab a carrot and some buttons then your snowman will be brought to life!
10. Go sledding
If you have access to any type of land you can sled on, I completely recommend. The thrill of sledding can make you happier as well as relieve any stress you have temporarily (as if you really needed a scientific reason).
11. Write
Sitting around and wondering what to do might cause your mind to wander and get lost. This can spark inspiration or alleviate any writers block that was present beforehand.
