Things To Do In New Hampshire In The Summer

Being in New Hampshire, there is an abundance of things to do. You are surrounded by the ocean, mountains, and just an hour away from Boston. Here are just a few of the many things that you can do in New Hampshire.

1. Go to Downtown Portsmouth

Easily one of the cutest towns in New Hampshire -- Downtown Portsmouth has so many things to do. With a wide variety of places to eat that range from burritos at Dos Amigos to breakfast food at The Friendly Toast, which was voted number four by Good Morning America for best breakfast spots in the country. It has the adorable small town appeal, but has so much to do that makes the town perfect for anyone looking for a good time.

2. Go to Lake Winnipesaukee

Head to New Hampshire's biggest lake for the day. Not only can you go swimming and enjoy going out in the boat, but you can enjoy the beautiful scenery that the mountains around it provide.

3. Go to a Drive-In Movie

Step back to the 1950's and enjoy this now rare way of watching a movie. Nestled in Weirs Beach in Laconia, the drive-in movie theater allows you to watch a movie from the comfort of your car. It also allows you to watch two hit movies for the price of one!

4. Go Hiking

New Hampshire seems to have an endless amount of hiking trails. Take the day, some water, and some healthy snacks -- enjoy nature while hiking among some of the most beautiful trails in the country. Some favorites to New Hampshire natives are Mount Major and Castle in the Clouds.

5. Go to the Hot Air Balloon Festival

Located in Pittsfield and Hillsborough -- it only comes around once a year. It's a great place to go if you want to enjoy the hot air balloons, eat some fair food, and buy local crafts. Hot air balloon rides are given to those visiting and the setting off at sunset is a sight that everyone should see in their lifetime.

6. Go to the Beach

Even though we are the state with the shortest amount of coastline, there's still plenty to enjoy at the beach. Head down to Hampton to enjoy the typical entertaining beach feel or head to Rye to just enjoy a nice day on the ocean.

7. Go to a Fishercats Game

Major league baseball games can be expensive and aren't always convenient because of the high levels of traffic. Nestled right in Manchester, take a day to enjoy minor league baseball and a few hot dogs in the stadium.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
