As someone who has been a resident of Michigan my entire life, I have spent a lot of time visiting different areas of the state and seeing what activities there are to do. Here is a list of some of my favorite summertime activities that show off the Great Lakes State!

Visit Mackinac Island

After taking a ferry to the beautiful city, Mackinac Island boasts a plethora of different activities for everyone: ride a horse-drawn carriage, go biking, golf, visit historical sites, or eat the iconic Mackinac fudge.

If you're craving Mediterranean food, look no further. Pegasus Taverna, identified by its neon pegasus sign, is a popular Greek restaurant in Detroit, and it is alongside other Greek food venues and bakeries.

The beautiful sand dunes in Michigan are an added bonus to having beaches in our state. Riding dune buggies is a popular sand dune activity, or you can explore on your own.

Go to a Tigers Game at Comerica Park

During game days at Comerica Park, the crowd is always a sea of orange and blue spirit for the Tigers, Detroit's beloved baseball team. Going to these games is always an enjoyable time, especially when you can snack on the hot dogs, popcorn and other snacks offered there while you watch the game.

Visit the Detroit Zoo

At the Detroit Zoo you can feed giraffes, go underground to see polar bears swim right above you, and multiple other zoo activities. Going to the Zoo is a popular summer activity among metro Detroit residents, especially families.

Hang Out at the Detroit Riverfront

The Detroit Riverfront offers many restaurants like Shake Shack and the Hard Rock Cafe and has a gorgeous view of Canada from across the waters.

Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.
