Lake George, NY is located about three and half hours away from New York City and only about 45 minutes from Albany, NY. It is a great get away with endless things to do. Whether you spend a weekend or weeks at a time here, you will never be disappointed with what they have to offer in the area. If you are ever looking into going here or even if you've been here before but haven't experienced much, this article will give you the what to do!

1. Martha's Dandee Creme

Martha's ice cream is the best all around. Big sizes and low prices. A lot of new comers come by thinking they can handle a large ice cream cone; most of the time they can't. They serve only soft serve ice cream, no hard ice cream. Over 10 flavors a day, and the set of flavors change every three or four days.

2. Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course

Adirondack Extreme is a test to see your climbing skills. They test your strength to the max. Starting from the easiest course on the ground, working your way high up into the trees then between each course you get to zip line.

3. Six Flags Great Escape

Six Flags is a great place to take children. It features many different rides and is always being updated, along with having their usual carnival games all around the park. You can find discounts for the park around town as well!

4. Million Dollar Beach

Million Dollar Beach is the main beach on Lake George. It's right in town, steps away from Shepard's Park. It is life guarded throughout the summer insuring safety for everyone.

5. Playland Arcade

Playland Arcade is the town's arcade. There are other arcades around town, but this is the biggest. With all the games, they have prizes for the tickets you win. It's a fun time for all ages.

6. Fireworks

Every Thursday night in the Town of Lake George, fireworks are set off at Shepard's Park. The fireworks start as early as memorial weekend until labor day weekend starting around 9:30 p.m.

7. Glen Falls Drive-In

The drive-in provides a great experience for those that love movies. They are open seven days a week during the summer providing four different movies. When you pay for the first movie, you can stay for the second movie at no extra cost! Dogs are also allowed here.

8. Mini Golf

Gooney Golf, Pirates Cove, and Lumberjack are Lake George's biggest mini golf courses. Each have competitive prices with 18 holes of fun.

9. Hike

There are many trails around the area for those who enjoy hiking. Each trail ranges from one mile to 30 miles. There are also a lot of local little lakes you can hike around, from four miles to 30 miles as well.

10. Tuby Tubbing

Tuby Tubbing is a great time for those who like being lazy and hanging out in the water. You get to enjoy sitting in a tube and floating down the Lake Luzerne.

11. The Fun Spot

The Fun Spot is a great place for those that enjoy different types of activities. They have rollerblading, laser tag, arcade games, go carts, and mini golf.

12. Water Sports

There are many water sports you can do on Lake George. Some include, parasailing, jet skiing, wake boarding and water skiing.

13. Concerts

Every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in Shepard's Park is free concerts.

14. Painted Pony Rodeo

It's the oldest weekly rodeo in the U.S. They have rodeos, Texas style BBQ's, and a longhorn saloon featuring the area's hottest country western dance club.

15. Fishing

All along the shore you will see fishermen. Lake George is a great fishing spot. A lot of times, fishing tournaments are held around the area. You can even rent boats and kayaks to go out into the lake to fish.

16. Shopping

Right outside of the town of Lake George on Route 9 are many outlet stores. They always have the best deals so you can style for less.

You'll never leave Lake George disappointed. They are always updating and adding news things to do. I've been coming ever since I was little and there are still things from before I was born that are great, along with new things that are filled with fun to do.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
