Halloween! My favorite holiday is approaching and I love celebrating Halloween. It's just a fun holiday, there's candy and an excuse to dress up!

Do you want to go out and do something to fit the holiday? If you are in the New England area here are some ideas and things that I love doing to get in the Halloween spirit!

Fright Fest at Six Flags

I have season passes, so this is usually a must for me. It's so much fun and there are staff members dressed up and they put on a performance as well to get the fun started! If you go on Halloween night it's even better because most people are out trick or treating, so no lines for rides! There are some other amusement parks that do events like this, Fright Fest has just been the one I go to.

Witches Woods in Westford, MA

Honestly, I have never been. The only reason for this is because I am a wimp when it comes to scary things. Ever since my friends once said we should go back in middle school, my mom always says no, just because I wouldn't go to sleep for weeks. I have heard its fun, but be aware you may be beyond scared.

Salem, MA

This is the best place to go for Halloween festivities! Ghost tours, palm readers, haunted houses, music, and much more! Fair warning though, Halloween night can be very crowded here!

Carve Pumpkins!

This is such an innocent craft, but yet it is fun and gets you in the Halloween spirit! There are many places to pick/ buy pumpkins. Once you pick a pumpkin, go home, be creative, and carve it to put it outside!

Watch Halloween Movies!

Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Halloweentown movies, these are just some of my personal favorites. Then, there are always horror movies if you want a little bit of scary thrill.

This is just to name a few things! Happy Halloween!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
