Things To Consider Your First Time Voting
Today I found Out

The first time stepping into a voting booth can be intimidating and even overwhelming. If this is your first time voting, there are some things you should take into consideration.

1. Party

Don't vote solely based off your party. You may agree with mostly with a democrat's ideology's, but if there's one or a few things your party is saying or suggesting that are deal breakers for you, don't vote for them just because they are democratic! There are a lot of websites online that can help you determine your party based off of your ideologies.

2. Immigration

Immigration is a huge controversy in the United States today and should be carefully consider when choosing your next President. If you're of foreign ethnicity, you're not going to want a president who kicks you out of this country. But things like terrorism and just letting people walk in should also be taken into consideration. But, you also have to think about your safety. You don't want someone "jumping the border" who's going to terrorize you and your country.

3. Economics

Being of legal voting age means that your future is now at stake. If you're the type of person who works hard for what they receive and don't think people should just get things handed to them, you're going to want someone in the White House who's a good business persom. You're going to want someone who knows how to make the country thrive economically. If you're someone who needs or wants to rely on aid, you're not going to want someone who's going to take it all away from you.

Voting for the first time is scary. Who you want to vote for all depends on your ideologies and views of how you want the world you live in to be, so please do your research. Don't just vote for the candidate your parents vote for, or base your party off your parent's views. Figure out where you stand, and go from there.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
