Family- I am grateful for my family for so many reasons, it's truly unfathomable. They support me in absolutely everything I strive to do and every decision I make wholeheartedly. They trust in me to make the decisions they raised me to make and always do the right thing. They encourage me to have fun and live my life to the fullest. My family motivates me to strive to become the greatest person I can be, and when I am not they’re there to help me try again. I am thankful for their undying love for me and for never giving up on me. I don’t know how I was so blessed to be born into my family, but I am happy I was.
Good health- In a world full of hurt and pain, I see several people my age suffering and struggling to live a life of simplicity because of health reasons. I am so appreciative of the fact that I do not have such things to worry about.
Friends- Even though my mood changes, my friends remain consistent in their love for me. They will listen to the same story about the same people over and over just because they know it helps me. They are hard on the people I allow into and who remains in my life because they truly believe I only deserve the best. My friends shower me with positivity, always lend a listening ear, and pray with and for me every day.
Money- Yes, I know… this is a shallow thing to be thankful for. I just appreciate the fact that I know that even though I don’t get anything and everything I want, I have enough to live a comfortable life that many are not able to live. I am thankful that I don’t worry day to day as to where my next meal will come from.
Higher education- I can go on and on about this one. Going to college is much more than the memories and good times. It’s where individually, I can begin a good foundation for the rest of my life. I am so blessed that I could go to the college of my dreams, and learn to “teach like the master teacher.” So many graduates do not get to come to college, and I cannot express how grateful I am to be able to have the opportunity.
Little things- After all, life is just a whole lot of simple things wrapped in one big timeline. I love getting to sleep in, walking outside to a beautiful day, eating at my favorite Mexican restaurant, hearing an old song, or taking long drives. There is just so many small things that can easily be over-looked but shouldn’t be. It’s where you can find true happiness.
America- Even though after this election, everyone abrupted into chaos, my feelings remained the same: I love this county. I am thankful for all my freedoms, for without them I would not be able to share even this. I am thankful I can feel safe at night when I lie my head down, that I am protected. I am grateful that we have men and women fighting for that. It’s a great country to live and I am thankful for it.
Church- The importance of having the love and fellowship of a church family is unsurpassable. Whenever you build relationships with the people you also worship with, it gives you such a great feeling.
Trials- As crazy as it sounds, I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for all of the hard times I had to go through, and I am appreciative of them. If life didn’t have any low points it would be hard to recognize when you’re going through the high spots. I’m thankful for the people who have done me wrong, and for the heartbreak I have gone through. Everything I have overcome has made me mature and helped me become a better person altogether.
Christ- Sometimes people say they save the best for last, but I just saved the one who let all of the above be possible. I am blessed because he allows so many awesome things and people to be in my life. Without my relationship with him, I would have another story I could be telling. His undying and sacrificial love for me is why I have so many things to be thankful for, and for that I am eternally grateful.
