There are some things you'll be thinking about as you start nearing the end of your high school career. Some of those things are exciting, and some are bittersweet. Keeping these few things below in mind as you get ready to graduate will help you leave high school with little regrets!

1. How good it's going to feel to finish that last final exam and leave school.

When you go sit down to take that last exam of high school, you'll get a rush of excitement. You'll be thinking of how good it'll feel to be graduated high school and to be homework free for a few months. You'll be thinking about how the next time you sit in a classroom, you'll be at your desired college, becoming the person you've always dreamed of being.

2. You'll miss the great teachers you've had over the years.

As the school year ends, you'll start to realize that your time with your favorite teachers is coming to a close. In not too long, you'll never be in a classroom with your favorite teacher again. You'll never get to hear their funny jokes, complete their unique homework assignments, or just participate in their class again. Make sure you let your teacher know how much you loved their class.

3. Thinking about walking across the stage to get your diploma soon.

At the end of your high school career, one of the things you think about most is putting your cap and gown on and walking across the stage to receive your diploma. It is at that moment that you are officially free from high school. That is where your life as an adult begins. It's the moment in which you're free from high school drama and antics, and you're much more independent.

4. Leaving behind those who you went through 13 years of school with.

For some of us, we've gone to school with a few people since kindergarten and maybe even preschool and daycare years. Realizing that you'll never be in school with some of them again could be tough. Let's not forget some of the best friends you made throughout high school. Those ones will be the toughest to leave! Make sure you cherish your last moments together in school.

5. Looking forward to the independence.

Once you graduate high school, you get on a whole new level of independence. Of course, that doesn't mean that you can go out and break laws and do anything you want to, but you're much more free. You don't have to abide by silly high school rules anymore, such as strict dress code, really early curfews, and all the different school requirements. However, with these new freedoms, also comes more responsibility.

6. No more field trips or activities, and less vacation.

In high school, you get to go on a bunch of different field trips and do different class activities. Once you're in college, those become impossible to do. You'll miss getting to miss class to go on those trips. Also, vacation days will be more rare. Take advantage of those vacation days, because they won't be as regular in college.

7. Looking forward to college in general, and meeting new people.

College is a fun, exciting time in your life. You get to look forward to living on your own for the first time and being more in control of your life. You'll get to meet new people and gain more friends. You'll be doing something different in your life, instead of your typical high school ways and routines. It's such an exciting new journey in life!

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
