4 Things Professors Do That Make You Angry

In college today, we have really good and really smart professors. We all go through the ones that really aren't good at the material. We all wish we could teach that certain material because we know that professor isn't explaining it well enough. But this is not what this article is about, but instead, this article is about what both the good ones and bad ones do what we hate. These things four will have you have you asking your professors why do they do this.

1. When they tell you to get textbooks, but you really don't need them:

When professors tell us we will need a book, and then we don't use it but one time the whole semester. I don't understand why they make us waste $300 dollars on a book we barely even use. If they would have told us we were barely using the book, I would have never bought the book. They don't understand that a book really does cost a arm and a leg. I think it would be very beneficial if they would tell us if we need it or if we are learning from the book or not. It would save us a whole lot of stress.

2. The professor who never posts notes online:

I really don't like when teacher doesn't post their notes online. I really feel like for some students, especially me, it's better to watch them talk and write stuff on the board to better understand. Plus I feel like they are really wanting the student to learn their way, but not their own ways, which isn't far at all.

3. The professor who doesn't allow note taking electronics in class:

I really think this one really depends on a person and how they learn. If the person is a great learner that way, let them do it. But if that one person gets distracted by them, don't take it away from the class altogether. In today's society, we learn with electronics in many different ways like: social media, google, etc. So why not let us use electronics??

4. The one who never grades your exams on time:

This is really one of the worst things that many professors suck at. I don't really know why they suck at it... they just do. I guess they feel that turning in their grades late will help a student. Which it will not because they wanna know if they need to drop the class or what they need to do to help their grades get better the next time.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
