All sports have there own culture, and running is no different. From eating tons of peanut butter and bananas to the euphoria of getting a new pair of running shoes there are many strange things that you can only understand if you are apart of the running community.

1. Waking up in extreme pain becomes a normal feeling

2. Running is no problem, but forget walking up multiple flights of stairs

3. Saving race bibs and numbers — your walls are probably covered in them

4. Having the strangest race day superstitions

5. The watch tan line

6. Running rain or shine ... or snowstorm, hail, and whatever else mother nature wants to throw at you

7. Having more running clothes than regular clothes

8. The stick is your BFF

9. You worship Steve Prefontaine

10. You own an absurd amount of running shoes

11. Anytime family member doesn't know what to get you for a present they just get you something running related

12. You wave at other runners you see, regardless of if you know them or not

13. You have a love/hate relationship with track workouts

14. Eating anything and everything in sight after you run

15. Realizing all your hard work is worth it when you have an amazing race!

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester.
