There are an ASTOUNDING 7.6 billion people walking on this hunk of rock hurtling through space. Perhaps one of the most amazing things about this earth is that each and every one of us is created differently! Different ethnicities, different lifestyles, different personalities, and different experiences only barely touch on how different each and every one of us are!

You're probably wondering why this is important. Why am I even writing about this at all? We're obviously all different and have different lives.

I'm not writing this to state the obvious to you, I'm writing this to remind you of how AMAZING you are! Pick me ups like this can make a huge impact in everyone's lives, including yours!

Millions of people suffer from some sort of mental health condition, often accompanied by a lack of self-worth. I personally struggle with it almost every day and I have to recenter myself every now and again with positive self-talk.

I'm here to tell you that if you're reading this, you are 1 in 7.6 BILLION. You are different from EVERY OTHER PERSON OUT THERE! Isn't that just amazing?

Your experiences, your life, your relationships, are unlike ANYONE ELSES! Most of all, your story is IMPORTANT. The great thing about Earth is that this floating space rock holds billions of stories of every person who's walked here; from Adam and Eve and Abraham Lincoln to Michael Jackson and Chester Bennington. Your story adds to the amazing collection of stories that our planet holds. What happens to you and what you contribute to life is so valuable.

Those feelings of worthlessness and self-pity? Shove 'em. The non-risk-taking actions and poor self-confidence? Stomp 'em to the ground. You are an individual with your own beautiful story that will leave an impact on this world.

If you need someone to talk to, please call the numbers below. You are NOT alone and you are ONE IN A BILLION!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
