When it comes time for college, people often go their separate ways. Unfortunately, it usually involves you parting ways with your best friend for essentially nine months out of the year.

Here are just seven realities to expect when you and your best friend are separated by the thing that they call college.

1. You don't get to talk to each other all of the time, but when you do, it involves FaceTiming for at least two hours.

Should probably be studying, but it's worth it.

2. You still converse on the daily through memes, though.

No such thing as sending too many memes.

3. Any school break involves a lot of excitement.

Winter break, where are you?

4. You vent to them when the struggles of college catch up with you.

Slept through my alarm and was 15 minutes late for class, but what else is new?

5. You both exchange going out stories.

Trying to describe the craziness that was the weekend.

6. You make a vow to force each other to go to the gym every single day over break.

Gaining 15 pounds does not just apply to freshmen.

7. Even when you are miles apart, you still manage to be as close as you are at home.

As tough as it is to be apart, it never takes a toll on your friendship.

Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
