Pokemon Go has taken the U.S. by storm since its release on July 6. Since that day was my birthday and I'm a huge Pokemon buff, this was the perfect birthday gift. The reality mobile game has a rocky start, struggling with crashing servers and glitches. Luckily, the game has seen some improvements and has been running steady. After playing the game for a few days, I have noticed a trend in a few things amongst my fellow Pokemon trainers. Here are 11 of the more common things I have been experiencing.

1. Running into walls.

The other night I was playing the game in a shopping mall and ran straight into a brick wall, but at least I caught that Weedle.

2. Getting weird looks.

The only thing funnier than running into a wall in the first place was the looks that I got from everyone in the food court.

3. A Pokemon appears while driving.

When there aren't a lot of people around, I'll drive with the app open and keep my phone in the ashtray. I have stopped in the middle of the road with my hazards on, reversed in the middle of the street, made crazy u-turns and slammed on brakes all to catch a Pokemon. Gotta catch 'em all, right?

4. Seeing a new Pokemon.

I have never seen a Tangela until yesterday.

5. Catching multiple Pokemon at one Pokestop.

So little effort, so much reward.

6. Clefable just won't stay in the freaking Pokeball.

I wasted 10 Pokeballs trying to catch this little pink jerk.

7. Wanting to compete for a gym but not being a level five trainer yet.

I just wanted to fight other Pokemon and do hood rat things with my friends.

8. Becoming a level five trainer.

I'm going to pretend that reaching level five was harder than it actually was.

9. Taking over your first gym.

My deepest apologies to the previous owner of the gym near my house, but you just got owned, buddy.

10. Preparing for a battle.

I remember the first time I prepared my first Pokemon for battle. I lost terribly.

11. Being too tired to play the game anymore.

Until tomorrow, my Pokefriends.

Pokemon Go has been so much fun, and it has made me extremely competitive. Download the app here for iOS and here for Android to see what all the fuss is about!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
