1) Family

Of course, this is everyone's go to answer when they're asked what they're thankful for, but my family is truly the biggest blessing in my life. I'm fortunate enough to belong to a family that is not made up of just my blood, but my best friends. While there are some who can't stand to spend a night in with their parents, or even make it to a family dinner, I jump at the opportunity. Often living a busy life can get in the way of quality time with them, however it's the type of thing to make time for, cause when thing's get crazy and overwhelming, sometimes a home-cooked meal and a few episodes of friends on the couch with my family is JUST what I need.

2) Good Friends

You all know what I mean when I say that there are friends, and there are GOOD friends. The ones that you can count on to be there on your best and worst days. The ones that are there to to listen when you need to ramble about your latest drama, and then scream sing a Taylor Swift song in the car that relates, and the ones that bake brownies and dance in the kitchen with you until midnight on a Tuesday. Having people like this in my life is essential in keeping myself sane, and I'm lucky enough to have a few pals like this around. However, I never realized how much I took these friendships for granted until one left for boot camp, one went back to college, and two went to study abroad, leaving little ole me all by myself in our hometown. Never the less, we all talk just about everyday and I am nothing short of happy for all the memories they're making while they're away.

3) Coffee

It's safe to say that I am not a morning person, and unless I've had my cup of coffee, it's probably best we don't talk yet. While there's always talk about how bad coffee can be for you, not a care is given on my part, and I will keep happily sipping on my Starbucks.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
