Whether you've known each other since freshman year or you've just met, we all have a long list of things we should thank our roommate for. We know ourselves all too well, but we have to admit that our roommates know us better than anyone else. Here is a small list of some things that we should take some time to thank our roommates for.

1. Dealing with my emotional self

From failing a test to PMS, you've been there through it all. Thank you for listening to me cry for no reason or vent when I've had an awful day. Thank you for never judging me even when it may be easy to. I may be a lot to handle, but you never show how much effort it takes.

2. Late night talks

Whether it's just when were getting into bed or into the early hours of the morning, thank you for the uncontrollable laughs in the dark and the silence and advice when I need it. Our conversation may not always make sense, but we do enjoy them.

3. Sharing your things

Thank you for giving me the perfect top to complete my outfit for a night out or a great lipgloss to put the finishing tops on my makeup look. You always have what I need and you're always coming in clutch.

4. Study dates

Whether we're cramming the night before an exam or weeks in advance, you always push me to do my best. You know when to push me to study a little bit longer or to stop and give my mind a break. Thank you for being okay with me having the light on in the late hours of the night.

5. For being as OCD as me

Thank you for being as obsessed as I am with cleaning. Thank you for doing dishes with me just for fun or going to the store to get Clorox wipes and other cleaning items.

6. Movie night

Thank you for understanding the lazy day feeling we all get once in a while, or for me, way too often. Thank you for watching endless episodes of "The League", or "New Girl", or watching endless re-runs of "Pride and Prejudice." I don't regret those 80s movie nights with our Chipotle burrito bowls one bit.

7. Thank you for being my kind of crazy

Thank you for laughing at my dumb jokes that don't make sense and the ones that flat out stink. I know I am a lot to handle, but thank you for choosing to deal with me.

Alex, you've been a real trooper for two and a half years. Love ya, girly.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
