The transition from high school to college is not an easy one. You go from following your parents' rules and attending 4 plus classes a day for 8 hours surrounded by people you've known since kindergarten to the freedom of living in a Freshman dorm with complete strangers. It's so exciting to have a fresh start and decide what you want to make of the next 4 years. If you're lucky, the people you meet and choose to surround yourself with will become your life long friends who you'll still keep in touch with when everyone has graduated and you finally have careers and families of your own. College is such a stressful, but amazing time. You want to be accompanied by great people who will stick with you through the highs and lows college is going to throw at you. The majority of my years here have been spent living in a sorority house with 15 other girls and I wouldn't have it any other way. They're my support system. The people you meet in school are there for the nights that turned into mornings and that's why they're friends who turn into family. I was fortunate enough to find my second family here at my university, so here's a shout out to them.

Thank you for letting me borrow your clothes whenever I desperately need an outfit for the night and my clothes aren't cutting it. And for always helping me pick out the perfect one.

Thank you for the hilarious dance parties and the times where we sing our favorite songs at the top of our lungs.

Thank you for the nights out where we danced on tables, stayed up way too late, and stumbled home together.

Thank you for the nights in where we gathered in the lobby to watch our favorite TV shows and movies.

Thank you for being there when schoolwork gets to be extremely overwhelming. It's nice to have people there to remind you to balance work with play.

Thank you for always being down to order a late night pizza or go on a trip to the Hibachi buffet. It's comforting to know that at least one of your friends is always hungry at any given time.

Speaking of food, thank you for always giving me someone to eat in the Cafe with because let's face it no one loves eating alone.

Thank you for the countless inside jokes and sharing the same sense of humor as me. With all the stress college puts on you, laughs are needed every single day.

Thank you for dragging me outside for adventures when all I want to do is lay in bed. I want to look back on these years and remember all of the fun I had.

Thank you for all the valuable advice you've given me over the years, and thank you for not hating me when I decided against my better judgment and made some mistakes anyway.

Thank you for being the BEST friends ever and loving me no matter what. It's crazy how complete strangers can turn into some of the most important people in your life.b

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
