Things We Should Bring Back From The 90's-2000's

Those were the glory days.

Things We Should Bring Back From The 90's-2000's

The 90's and early 2000's were the best of times and the worst of times, but mostly the best. There are a few things that went out of style (or business) when the world went past about 2008, and this is an official petition to bring them back.

1. Gel Pens

Gel pens were the highlight of many young girls' childhoods. We wrote and colored everything with our precious gel pens. Most of us had a 100 pack of these bad boys, and you better believe if one was missing you wouldn't hear the end of it. Now a days, it's "socially unacceptable" to sign important documents, checks and other things with gel pens because I'm an "adult". I think gel pens should be acceptable to use in all situations.

2. The Lisa Frank Enterprise

Lisa Frank was the popular business for school supplies that had its peak in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's, but lost popularity around 2007. The company centered its products around colorful, bright and kid like stickers and stationary, and was the epitome of my 2005 happiness.

3. Lizzie McGuire

Hilary Duff is now married and has a child, but I'm still stuck on the world of Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo. "The Lizzie McGuire" show was basically your guide to the world of teenagers if you were a kid in the 2000's, and a guide to fashion too (if you liked sparkly belts, matching headbands, scrunchies and layered shirts).

4. Snap Bracelets

These were way too entertaining for how simple they were. Snap bracelets came in tons of cool colors and designs, and they were so much fun to trade with your friends. The only problem that came with snap bracelets was when they wouldn't snap around your wrist and would just make your wrist all red and hurt instead.

5. Wiggly Water Snakes

These toys from your childhood don't really have an official name, so for the purpose of this we will call them wiggly water snakes. There was no real purpose or objective when it came to these toys, but they definitely kept you occupied as a kid. The fancier, more expensive version of these had glitter and little plastic toys inside them. It was the epitome of 2000's cool.

6. Club Libby Lu

Club Libby Lu is a hard concept to explain to explain to people that never lived in this era of makeovers and sparkly nail polish. Basically, Club Libby Lu was a place where all of your friends had their birthday parties, and where you could pretend to be a rock star or a general glamour queen. It was the center of controversy because many parents said that it taught girls to have value in beauty rather than intelligence or character, and just like that Club Libby Lu eventually went out of business.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
