Decisions can be hard to make. We make them all the time, every day. It can be intimidating to make choices by yourself, and for this reason, many people choose to reach out to friends, parents, or trusted adults to give their opinions. I'm definitely guilty of this. I want everyone's opinion that exists, even if they're not someone who's familiar with my situation. It's easy to rationalize this by saying that asking multiple people for advice could give you a perspective you hadn't thought of, or that it could help you find the voice in your head telling you what you actually want to do. These are valid reasons, but most of the time I just want someone to tell me what to do.
Sometimes, though, you need to make decisions on your own, because nobody else knows what's really right for you. So, here are 6 decisions you should definitely make with your own opinion in mind.
1. Where you go to school.
If you go to college, where you go to college, and what you do when you get to college should be up to you.
2. Who you date.
Yes, what your friends think of your new boyfriend is important, but at the end of the day, it only matters what you think of your beau.
3. What you wear.
Yes, totally try on all of your clothes with your friends, but don't let anybody tell you to tone down your style.
4. What you're interested in.
Maybe you'll get called a nerd, but it's much more fun to spend your time doing things you actually like rather than what everybody else thinks is cool.
5. How you feel about yourself.
Don't let the world tell you how to feel about yourself, find your self-worth within.
6. What kind of topping you have on your pizza.
Pineapple pizza eaters, I will never understand you, but don't let anybody tell you that you're wrong.
