5 Things You Should Always Bring To Class
Scott Webb

I started school again for the first time today, and here are my top five things I am so glad I brought with me!

Every day isn't perfect, but I always have these five essential items with me for class, at all times.

1. Drinks

Although I had to stop to pick it up, I am thankful I had it. Some classes last almost three hours and no one wants to be dying of thirst in the middle of class or if you have a presentation! Always bring something with you, that is honestly the best thing you can do!

2. Chargers

I brought both my phone and laptop charger. Obviously, most people never leave without their laptop charger, but it is still something I added here because at one point in my school career I thought my laptop could last all day with no charger. I was very wrong. It died halfway through my second class. I may have left it on before leaving my first class. I also brought my phone charger and add that on here cause you never know when you may need it. Sometimes things happen and you may need to call a friend for some help! Always keep electronics nice and charged!

3. Extra paper

Now I always carry a notebook with me, but I have experienced spilling water or soda on my one notebook and was left without any note paper for the day! Always bring extra notebooks or lined paper with you just in case of a water emergency! Note - Still never forget to bring water, even if accidents happen.

4. An extra pencil and pencil sharpener.

Now I was (still am!) a SpongeBob fan. If that show taught me anything, one of the most important things always brought a spare pencil and pencil sharpener. Things happen, pencils break or you lose them (hopefully not into the sea) and extras are always good. A Pencil sharpener is important due to pencils breaking. This happens to me often, I have what you would call a lead hand when it comes to writing. Do not be like that artist in SpongeBob and not have extras! You will have a breakdown just like him if you do not.

5. Headphones

I always, always, ALWAYS, bring my headphones. For the most important reason, I can walk to class without strangers trying to talk to me and distract me. Or to do school work in quiet. Anyways, these are important and helpful. I almost didn't bring them due to the fact that I didn't think I would need them, turns out I did. I used them to listen to a tutorial video during my first class.

Hope my little list helps!

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
