5 Things to Remember During Your College Midterms
Huffington Post

The pre-final section of the college semester is surrounded by midterm papers and exams. During this time, college students tend to forget to take time to relax and end up cramming the night before. So, here are a few tips on how to ease the stress of midterms and how to change your mid-semester frenzy into a walk in the park.

1) Allow yourself time to study and do all of your assignments.

Acknowledge the assignments that will be due--even the midterm is scheduled on the syllabus. The acknowledgment of these assignments will allow yourself time to prepare for all the assignments that are due and will help you gain a head start on your assignments.

2) Take. Breaks.

These breaks will allow you to get a new perception on your project. They will also give you a chance to think of new, interesting ideas and concepts to incorporate into your project. Also, these breaks will give you a chance to get food or take a quick nap. (And don’t forget to take the a chance to set your alarm--you don’t want to oversleep!)

3) Study in places.

A change of scenery will give you inspiration, and can give you a chance to get away from the frantic midterm atmosphere. Coffee shops are the best and most caffeinated places to do midterm work.

4) Make a playlist for studying and homework.

Choose songs that will allow you to tune out conversations or individuals that could distract you. Also, they will make the constant papers and studying a jam session and hype up your mood.

5) Take care of yourself!!!

This is the biggest one. During this time of the year, people seem to forget that they need sleep, food and rest. If you forget these key components there is a likely chance you will be sick or maybe even forget an important assignment. If you take care of yourself and give your body what it needs, you will be able to get all of what you need to do done.

Remember these five tips to make your midterms seem not as stressful and harmful to your health. (And be sure to allow yourself a chance relax and destress from the midterm madness.)

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
