5 Things The Pumpkin Spice Latte Makes Us Forget About Fall

Pumpkin Spice Lattes are delicious, yes. But what about all of the other stuff that makes the Fall so amazing?

I don't know about you, but I've heard enough about Pumpin Spice Season. What happened to the season that is actually approaching? The Fall! I'm sick of seeing Fall overshadowed by a beverage, so here is a list of 5 other things we all love about the Fall.

1. The Leaves.

As a kid from a state with a ton of seasonal change, Fall by far takes the cake. Crunchy leaves are more than just nature's litter, they are a godsend. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then I guess growing up in Florida was trash. Not only are they incredibly fun to jump onto (a pile obviously don't just jump on the fucking ground Sharon) but they make for some serious majestic and awe-inspiring foliage.

2. The Hoodies.

Hoodies are more than just a fashion accessory, they are a way of life. Okay maybe I'm exaggerating, I just really love wearing hoodies. Another reason to love the Fall, it's literally the definition of hoodie weather. Sure, Winter rolls around and you might catch some deranged freaks trying to pass off a hoodie for a jacket in 30-degree weather, but those guys are usually fat anyway. In the meantime, you go on with your hoodie rocking self!

3. Picking.

Whether its apples or pumpkins, Fall is the perfect season to grab your snot-nosed kids and/or borderline alcoholic friends and get to some picking. I myself spend about 20 minutes marveling about how pretty everything looks and then around 4 hours complaining about the weight of the apples and asking whether or not it's time for some cider. Heads up, I might be the alcoholic friend. No matter what this Fall exclusive activity turns out to be for you, it's worth doing.

4. Daylight Savings Time.

You know the one in the Fall. The one that makes you feel like the day is never ending, where sleep feels just a little deeper. The one with the extra hour. We are scorned in the Spring with the vicious and quite frankly rude loss of an hour. But the Fall makes up for it all once a year with a magical day where you can stay up late or sleep extra, and no one can tell the difference. I think it's safe to say that we're grateful and this totally outshines a stupid latte.

5. Halloween.

Now if this one wasn't obvious, I don't know what to tell you. If you know of my affinity for horror movies (here is a list of 10 Perfect Horror Flicks for Fall), you already know that nothing beats Halloween. Fun parties, it's socially acceptable to eat candy at any time of the day and spooky decorations, it's all here. Whether you're a kid dressing up and trying to get candy or an adult dressing up and trying to get laid, there is definitely something for us all.

So, there you have it! 5 more things to love about Fall, though odds are you already loved them anyway. Did your favorite things about Fall make the list? And no, we don't care about your birthday. Well maybe a little, anything to get you to shut up about this PSL.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
