In This Article:

What are you thankful for?

I am thankful for so many things this year! It's been a rough one, but I had so many people helping me through it, such as my amazing family, friends, and boyfriend. I'm also thankful for the new friendships I've created this semester to get me out of my comfort zone, as well as the old ones that keep checking in on me. I've also had many artistic opportunities to push me in life towards what I want to do!

There is so much to be thankful for, like the comfort of books and movies, napping and the beautiful sunsets that we all take for granted. I always reflect on my days, and if it was an especially good one, I'll write down the memories to look back upon. Never forget what you have and always be gracious for what others have given you.

Whether you are thankful for your family and friends, or your favorite movie to come out this is what people said they were the most thankful for in the year 2018. I hope reading this helps to put your life in a different perspective and think more about what you do have than what you don't.

This is what people are thankful for:

Thankful for life in general.

"I am thankful for a roof over our heads, and food for our table. I'm thankful that my kids have two parents who are present in their lives. I'm also thankful for having a job to go to every day. I'm thankful that I lived to see another day."

Thankful to make it through the tough times.

"For all the obstacles I had this year. I wouldn't be the woman I am today without them."

Thankful for the military.

"I'm thankful for the opportunity the military has given me. I've learned my place in life and I've learned what is important out of life. I'm thankful for the friends and family who have stayed by my side even though I'm thousands of miles away."

Thankful for the support around us.

"The thought that life will be okay. That we are where we're meant to be in this exact moment, despite the crazy happenings. And we have a team of people in our corner that are always cheering on us. That's what I'm thankful for."

"My incredibly supportive friends and family."

Thankful for family and friends.

"Always and forever, and from the bottom of my heart, I am grateful for my family. It is my greatest blessing!"

"My family and close friends."

"My friends and family!"

Thankful for our significant others.

"For a supportive husband who goes above and beyond to take care of his family and children that are loving."

"My beautiful, talented girlfriend."

Thankful for every new day with amazing people.

"I'm thankful to wake up each morning and have a wonderful support system in my family, friends, and boyfriend."

Thankful for their children.

"For my 3 amazing kids!!"

Thankful for love.

"Unconditional love."

Thankful for clothing.

"Socks."

Thankful for our furry companions.

"My doggies"

Thankful for laughter.

"The ability to laugh."

Some might be silly and some are serious, but all responses represent what makes people happy and bring them joy.

I challenge you to look at your life and find three things to appreciate each day and be thankful. We take so much for granted that we forget what is all around us. If you didn't do the 30 days of thanks this year, try next year or even next month! You can keep it personal or share it with the world. Just always keep it in mind when you think you don't have much.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
