Competition is a part of life. Whether it's in sports, grades, college applications or jobs, we have been raised in a society that places an emphasis on being the best in every aspect of life. The extent of how much we give into that competition, however, is completely up to you. Personally, I have always been incredibly competitive (thanks Mom and Dad). As an overly competitive person, I am probably guilty of doing every single one of these things.
1. You make a contest out of everything, no matter how small it is or if you're the only one who knows about it.
2. You annoy the hell out of your friends by talking about your accomplishments.
3. You don't take it easy when playing against kids or older people.
4. You never refuse a challenge, no matter how stupid.
5. When you take a class with friends, your motivation to do well completely relies on beating them.
6. You get really irritated with non-competitive people during games or challenges.
7. You are basically a completely different person when playing sports.
8. You don't take constructive criticism very well.
9. Game nights are very intense.
10. When you see people at the gym on the machine next to you, you feel the need to go faster or on a higher level than them because you are actually racing.
11. When you lose, you take it incredibly personally.
12. You always congratulate the person who beats you even though you tend to not really mean it.
13. When someone tries to pass you while driving or biking even though you are going the speed limit, you step up your game and speed up to defend your pride.
14. You are the sober person playing drinking games to give yourself an edge.
15. You are terrible at losing or admitting that you are wrong.
16. Competition brings out your trucker mouth.
