28 Things Only UNCW Students Understand

UNCW is a small school with around 15,000 students. Which is about half compared to other popular schools like NC State and UNC. UNCW can be described as a small beach school where students only care about the beach. Even though, that statement is somewhat true for some people. The students here work that much harder in school to make sure they are able to stay here. Going to this university has so many amazing things to teach its students outside of the classroom: Live easy and don’t stress about things that don't matter. Here are some things that only students at UNCW will understand.

1. Classes getting cancelled because of floods. Bless the high water table.

2. When the streets are flooded people pull out their Kayaks and boats as a mode of transportation.

3. The everyday struggle of finding parking “in your zone” because no one knows what their zone is or any of the parking rules.

4. How hawk WiFi is actually the devil's spawn.

5. Skipping class and going to the beach when it's above 70 degrees out.

6. Racing to the beach to get that perfect sunset picture.

7. Modes of transportation: Longboards, bikes, and boats.

8. Major key: when it's raining *automatically takes shoes off.

9. Talks from our favorite visitor… Brother Ross.

10. "Mall cops” everywhere you go.

11. Officer Hill being well…. Officer Hill.

12. Uproar when campus dining took out the smoothie place.

13. Waggles *drops mic*

14. No Greek housing.

15. The famous unicycle girl.

16. When your basketball team makes it to the NCAA playoffs and no one knows where they came from.

17. The excitement when almost everything turned into a teal meal.

18. Deathly fear of being hit by a bike while walking down chancellors.

19. Daily crashes on Chancellors.

20. The best part about turning 21 is finally getting to go to the beach bars.

21. Becoming best friends with Angus at 22 North.

22. People asking you if you have watched One Tree Hill.

23. Tapingo making it okay for you to be that much more lazy.

24. When there are no tables in Randall you have to sit on the floor.

25. When Morton is hotter than it is outside.

26. Islands, Wake and Bake/Brits, Dockside, and Beach Bagels are the only food groups that really matter.

27. Sleep. Breathe. Eat Club Randall.

28. We live where people vacation so honestly nothing else really matters.

Gone to the beach. Be back never.
