Are You Seeing Anyone?

Do cookies count as “anyone?" There is literally not a single question more annoying than this. I totally understand why they ask; it’s a safe conversation topic and if the answer is yes it leads to more conversation and it avoids taboo topics such as politics. Butttt if the answer is no, it’s not only awkward but beyond embarrassing. Plus, if you’ve been a single pringle for a while then that question starts to get old real fast.

What are You Hoping to do With Your Major?

Most of the time we have not a single clue what we want to do with our major, or we know what we want to do but aren’t exactly sure how to do it. Jobs are slim these days and we already have enough to worry about without having to explain it to someone else.

What Will You Do this Summer?

Ahhh I don’t know. Sometimes we have something lined up and sometimes we have applied to everything under the sun and end up watching the first full season of Riverdale and eating three bags of Dorito’s. Regardless, we probably don’t have that figured out by the time the holidays roll around.

Isn't _________ a Tough Industry?

Honestly, everything is a tough industry these days. But specifically, whether you're referring to an industry where the pay is low or industries where it's particularly difficult to get a job; odds are that we already have thought that and been told that millions of times.

Where do You Want to Live After College?

Most of us don’t even know what we want to eat for breakfast, let alone where we want to live next year, let alone where we want to live when we graduate. The future is a somewhat scary idea for a good amount of people, especially college students and being reminded of all of our upcoming decisions is hardly something we look forward to.

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
