No Place is perfect

I love New York City. I love the lights, the people, the speed, and the atmosphere. Everyone who knows me knows how happy I am here. That being said, I do miss some things that you can’t get in New York City. Of course, there are loved ones back home or scattered around the world that I miss but I am not going to count them into this.

  1. My space- There are so many people everywhere in the city and everyone’s personal bubble has to shrink about four sizes because it is crowded in most places. People constantly surround you, which can be great because you are never alone. The downside is that you are never alone. Spaces are small when you are and there is no fresh air.
  2. The Stars- I’m not talking about the stars as in celebrities because you can see them in the city. Something that is hard to see in the city are the stars at night. I love looking up and realizing how small I actually am. In New York City, the buildings give you that effect but looking up and just seeing darkness or fog is kinda sad sometimes.
  3. The Grocery store- This one goes along with the space one. The grocery stores in New York City are so stressful. The items are expensive because everything is expensive in NYC, there are too many people, you have to learn to shop in line or “online” as they say, and there is no browsing the isles.
  4. Having a Pet- Yes, you can have a pet in the city but it is not as easy. You have to take the dog to the park for it to play in the grass. Cats are easier because they do not get to leave your apartment. Not being able to have a pet makes me very sad in the city but sometimes nice people let me love on their dog as I pass them on the street.
  5. Clean Air- New York City has so many smells and some of them are undeterminable that sometimes everyone wants to just get away from that and have fresh clean air. Sometimes it would be nice to be out on the open road, ocean, or field to get fresh clean air every once and a while.

Basically, New York City is perfect except you can’t have everything here. That is why people still go on vacations here. I love New York City a lot but these are some of the things I miss sometimes.

Daily Fun Lists

One of the most dreaded places on campus is the library. Nothing awesome ever happens here. Usually, the only reason you're here is because you've procrastinated so long that the library is the only place you'll actually get stuff done. It gives you this feeling of sadness and impending doom. You have no idea how this is going to go or how long you'll be here, but you do know it is about to be the most excruciating experiences yet. But it has to get done, so you drag yourself to the lovely library.

With each new year comes new goals.

Deciding on a goal can be hard, unsure of what to change for this new year. A new goal for myself is to be happier and take care of myself more. I am a very driven person; so driven that I commit to a million and ten things.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.
