As many know, I am absolutely obsessed with my little. She is the nicest, funniest and most understanding person I could ever have the pleasure of knowing. Though she is my little, she has taught me more than I could have ever imagined.

1. How to Love Unconditionally

Sure, you will always love your family unconditionally but when you get to college things are overwhelming. Getting a little gives you a person that you can love, spoil and hang out with whenever you want to. You little loves you just as much as you love them and you know they will never break your heart like some stupid boy.

2. Smile Always

My little is always smiling. She has taught me that even when you have a bad day, a smile can help make it better. Not everyone is happy every day, though a smile on your face can help someone else who might be having a bad day as well.

3. How to relax

If you know me at all, I am over-scheduled and organized. My days are planned out weeks in advance. My little has taught me that sometimes I need to just relax and have fun with my friends. I get so caught up in my school work that I forget to have a life. She has shown me that I need to have my own fun sometimes rather than living vicariously through her.

4.What the true meaning of Sisterhood is

My little has shown me that no matter what crisis you're going through that week, she is there to support no questions asked. She does not care if you make a fool out of yourself at social events or even if you spill food all over yourself at lunch. My little has taught me that because of all those things, we are closer than ever and she is never going to leave my side. No matter how emotional and needy I can always count on her being there to take me to lunch or just sit and hang out.

5. What it means to be a Big

Getting a little means taking on a large responsibility. You are so excited but now you have the responsibility of making sure this human who love you unconditionally is heading down the right path. You are the person she goes to for advice and when she needs help in her life. Its your job to be there for her and help her. My little has been there when I have needed her as well. She supports me just as much as I support her. She has taught me what being a Big is really about and I am proud to be hers.

Some might say that I pay for my friends and that's okay. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Sure I might not have met my little otherwise, but she has turned in to someone who I will always need in my life. My little is one of the greatest people I know and I am pretty sure she has taught me more than I have taught her.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
