It is no secret to the people I know that I am short. I'm almost 5'2" (the almost is extremely important), and I've found that I tend to date people who are way taller than me. Like a whole foot taller than me. My last few boyfriends have been at least 6'2", and my current boyfriend is 6'6". I have found that there are some struggles to dating tall guys, but also some things that are fantastic and I'm here to tell you about it.

Kissing can be rough. When you're standing and having to kiss, he has to bend down or you have to look up and stand way on your tip toes, and it can be super uncomfortable. You can even try and meet in the middle, but it just feels kinda weird. On the bright side, you can get showered with forehead kisses, which are always really sweet.

Walking is also difficult. They have long legs and you do not. I feel like a puppy trying to trot along next to my boyfriend or I feel like an Olympic Speed Walker, and I sometimes have to remind him to slow down. He can walk way faster than I can, which can be great when he wants to get to the car to cool it down before you get in.

Tying into the previous paragraph, when you're tired and don't want to walk anymore, he can give you piggyback rides that make you feel like you're on top of the world ... literally. And because he can walk so much faster than you, you can get to your destination much quicker. This is also great if you decide to go to an outdoor concert and you can't see. He can just put you up on his back or his shoulders and you can get the perfect view.

Because he's so tall, he can grab things for you. He can grab the cookies at the top of the shelf, and he can grab that wine at the top shelf for you at the store. He can also change the light bulbs for you. He can also grab things from the bedside table because his arms are way longer than yours. This can also be a disadvantage when they're feeling mean and want to keep something from you.

On a date night, you can wear those super cute heels that you just bought without having to worry about looking too tall next to your bae. You can wear those heels and feel like a powerful princess, and he can feel super comfortable being able to actually kind of kiss you.

And let's be real, you won't be bringing any food home from that date night because, well, boys like to eat. Doesn't matter if they're tall or not, they will eat anything. You won't have to worry about leftovers. If you're not hungry you can just turn to your man and say, "Hey, you want the rest of this?" The answer will most likely be yes.

And after that date night where you looked super fly, you and your boyfriend can cuddle. Cuddling with your boyfriend is super easy, because you might just be the right fit for each other. Spooning is basically perfect, because you fit so well together. Here's a hint: try letting him be the little spoon, he might really enjoy it. He will most likely have a huge bed, as well, because he's so tall, so when he gets up, you can spread out.

If you're just the right height for your boyfriend, you can be lucky enough that when you hug, your head rests right on his chest and you can hear his heart beat. Even if your boyfriend is just a little bit taller than that, you're still super lucky because you can feel super safe in his arms.

And when your boyfriend is tall, that just means that there's more of him to love.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
