If you are like me, then sleep is the number one priority in your life. OK maybe not number one, but it is definitely at the top of the list. All you ever want to do is sleep, you are always tired, and you take naps on the daily. Well, if this sounds like you here are some things you also find to be true.

1. You never get adequate amounts of sleep

Whether you sleep 4 hours a night or 12, you always wake up tired wishing you could continue to sleep. But you know if you do you will probably sleep all day long.

2. You miss class because of sleeping

You try to put class first, but those 9ams are just not working for you. Next semester you definitely plan on taking afternoon classes. Although, afternoon classes may interrupt with your afternoon nap. This may need further consideration.

3. All you can think about in class is when you will get to take your next nap

You had a long day of classes and you look forward to your nap. You had a hard exam and you are ready for a nap. Heck, you wake up “too early” and you are ready for you daily nap.

4. You get excited when you are done with class or homework because that means you get to nap

Finally class is over and you no longer have to day dream about your bed, you actually get to go back to your dorm and sleep… until your next class that is.

5. When you don’t have class you nap

Have an hour before your next class? A nap it is. 5 minutes until your next class? You decide you can squeeze in a few minutes of shut eye.

6. Instead of going out on the weekends you nap.

All your friends are so excited about turning up on the weekend, but you are ready for all of the sleep you are about to make up for. You always contemplate going out, but sleep usually wins. Although, the occasional going out wins, you make up for it by sleeping the entire next day. But its OK, you deserve it, you were social for once.

OK so some of this may be a bit exaggerated, but it sure does feel like you sleep 24/7 or are at least tired all the time. But it is OK, even though you always want to go to bed, Starbucks is here to help push you to do great things like stay awake and do your homework.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
