Carbs actually do give you energy

Stairs are not really that hard to walk on

Going to sleep can be easy

Being hungry is the worst feeling in the world

Shin-splints don’t happen easily

Your weight on a scale is literally just the amount of gravity pulling down on you

A scale is a valuable tool in Physics class

Your body is meant for living, not for staring

Everybody’s body is different, so there’s no point in comparing yourself to others

Working out is fun, it’s not meant to be a chore

Running gives you a high, it doesn’t burn calories

Having dessert after every meal is a blessing

Coffee doesn’t really taste that good without cream and sugar

It’s nice to be able to eat the biggest piece of your birthday cake

A calorie is a unit of energy

Calories don’t count in more things than you can imagine

Nothing is better than ice cream on a hot day

Popcorn at the movies is a must

When you’re sad, make sure you eat an entire pint of Ben & Jerry’s or a tub of peanut butter… whichever works

Let your grandmother stuff you with her homemade meals

The words “fat” and “skinny” should be in no one’s vocabulary

You’re allowed to splurge and not feel guilty about it

Food brings people together

Thanksgiving is the day to go all-out, not to restrict

Your mind should probably think about food less than 5% of each day

When you get older, your clothes are meant to get tighter

No one fits into their jeans from 10 years ago

Trying foods from different countries is a great way of getting in touch with the culture

No one can look like celebrities because no one can afford their training plans

Cellulite is normal fat under your skin and everybody has it

You need food to be able to stay up and study

After-drinking munchies are the bomb

Denny’s or iHop at 2 a.m. is always the move

Having a meal with friends is actually enjoyable, not anxiety-provoking

Food doesn’t have to be on your mind 24/7

It’s crucial to talk about your feelings

It’s important to love yourself regardless of anything

Life is so much more beautiful without the weight of your thoughts constantly pulling you down

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
