1. How to walk alone at night.

Walk fast and confidently. Don’t wear headphones and do not look distracted. Have 911 or a friend’s number readily available on your phone, put your keys in between your knuckles like a weapon.

2. You will often times be underestimated in the following :

Strength (physical and emotional), street smarts, regular smarts, and athleticism.

3. You will be judged by your looks.

4. People may assume your looks mean more to you than they actually do.

5. Random men will ask you to smile for them.

They will put their hands on your shoulders or around your waist and you are not supposed to make a fuss of it. Ignore catcalling.

6. Use the buddy system (this is why girls go to the bathroom in groups)

7. Your confidence will often be taken as being conceded.

    8. Sometimes if you show too much emotion people will assume you are on your period.

    9. You’re not supposed to talk about your period.

    birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

    pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
