If you were raised in a hispanic family, here are 5 things you most likely won't forget.
1) The Chancla
Let's face it. Every Hispanic has either been threatened or hit by the chancla throughout their childhood. If you either got in trouble or accidentally caused something, you have met the chancla. You will never forget its flat sole coming to contact with your skin as you attempt to run away from the inevitable fate that is coming after you.
2) Being told you don't help, after offering your help
There is never a time when you ask your mother if she needs help, and she automatically responds with, "No, tu nunca ayudas como queria." Every day ocurrance in a Hispanic household.
3) The "remedies" that heal everything
WARNING: DO NOT tell your mother your chest, back, leg, arm, head, etc. hurts. She will rub your whole body with VapoRub, thinking it will work. Hell, she'll even shove some down your throat and up your nose if need be.
4) How we pronounce EVERYTHING wrong
Can't go to the mall without hearing one of these. It's like we can't get any store's name right. Everything has an accent. "Vamo pa Tayge" – we can never pronounce Target correctly for sure.
5) Ladies, our never ending mean mug face
This, I believe, speaks for itself ladies.
