November 6th is one of the most important days of the year: election day. No matter who you're voting for, what you're voting on, and why you choose this way or that, your vote in this upcoming election is critical. Yet young people continue to be the least present at the booth.
Although everyone says they're going to vote, there's plenty of reasons that people come up with to get out of voting: it's too hard, the line is too long, I have work, I have class, or I don't have a ride. Well, it only takes about 15 mins to actually stand on line and vote and if that's too long still, you're just lazy. In most states and schools, election day is an excusable absence. Plus, even Uber is offering discounted rides to polling places. So, what's the excuse? It's too hard?
We have the power to sway this midterm election, especially young people. It's not hard to get yourself to a polling place and make your voice heard. But, if you truly believe that it's too much effort to go out and vote, take a look at the things that are actually harder than going to the polling booth and casting your vote.
