While many people think of Kansas as a giant wheat field and only know about it from the Wizard of Oz, there are things that only people who have lived in Kansas can say that they definitely don't miss when they leave the state.
1. Tornado watches almost every day during the late spring and early summer.
2. 70 mph winds gusts that knock you off of your feet.
3. The cotton floating around from the cottonwood tree that gets stuck to anything and everything.
4. That random winter storm that will happen in the middle of May.
5. When all four seasons happen in the course of a single day.
6. The smell of oil as you pass by El Dorado.
7. The smell of manure that drifts from the farms just outside of town.
