10 Things I Hope Chance, My Adorable Stomach-Of-Steel Pup, Doesn't Eat Again This Thanksgiving

I am a dog mom to an almost one-year-old Pit Bull puppy. His name is Chance and he has been causing trouble since the day I got him. More specifically he eats everything and anything he's not supposed to. I'm convinced he's got an indestructible stomach. Chance's antics will always keep me on my toes, to say the least. Going away to school and leaving him behind is one of the oddest feelings I'm sure any pet owner in college can relate to. With the Thanksgiving season upon us, I realized how grateful I am to have such an incredible dog, no matter what kind of trouble his stomach gets him into. Find out why his nicknames include "fat boy" and "beast boy" below as you read.

1. Socks

Natalia Carbuccia

This is Chance when he was only a few weeks old and yes, like most dogs, we soon realized he loved to chew on socks. Then as he grew bigger, he wasn't just chewing on socks, he was eating them WHOLE! Yup, you read that right. Chance would eat entire socks and well... the end result wasn't pretty.

2. The wall

As Chance grew, his appetite for peculiar items did as well. One day, when my family and I had come home from some outing, we saw that Chance had eaten a hole in our wall. There was drywall dust all over the floor and a puppy who was very excited to see us come home finally.

3. Treats

Natalia Carbuccia

I wouldn't say this is an odd object but the speed in which Chance devours them is not normal at all. Every bone made specifically durable for Pit Bulls is no match for his jaw. There is no treat or bone that Chance can't conquer.

4. Anything my sister left on the kitchen table

Natalia Carbuccia

As adorable as Chance is, there's no denying that his table manners need some work. My younger sister would often leave her plate of unfinished food on the kitchen table. She would run off to play and when she returned, more often than not, she'd find Chance had eaten the other half of her PB&J.

5. My brother's Playstation headset

Natalia Carbuccia

How could anybody get mad at that face?! Tell that to my brother when he found his Playstation headset ripped to shreds and the entire mic on it was gone. Needless to say, Chance was in the doghouse with my brother for quite some time after this incident.

6. A bag of uncooked rice

Natalia Carbuccia

There are two things my dog has been good at since he was a puppy: napping in bizarre positions and eating equally as bizarre items. He once got into our pantry and ate half a bag of uncooked rice. I still can't fathom what the appeal was but the rice being uncooked wasn't stopping him.

7. My acceptance letter to SDSU

Natalia Carbuccia

Well, this instance was definitely the most frustrating of them all. I probably wouldn't have even known Chance ate it if I hadn't found a small scrap of paper on the floor with the SDSU header on it. I guess all I can say is, I'm thankful that acceptance emails exist!

8. The glass coffee table

Natalia Carbuccia

To be fair, he obviously didn't eat our glass coffee table but he definitely tried. I would always catch him chewing on the corners of it!

9. An empty Windex bottle.

Natalia Carbuccia

I truly don't know how this pup does it. All that was left of the bottle was the nozzle and the shredded label. No material is a match for his jaw or more surprisingly, has an effect on his stomach.

10. Our couch

Natalia Carbuccia

Chance pretty much ate both of the cushions to my smaller couch. My dad had taken the covers off to wash them and Chance saw his opportunity to have some fun. He ripped apart the cushion, ate what he could and then played with the remaining bits.

I don't doubt my pup will find himself in more trouble and will most likely eat a couple more things he shouldn't. Since I'm not returning home for Thanksgiving, this article was an excellent reminder of the adorably insane dog I get to go home to for Christmas. I hope your stomach is as full as Chance's this holiday season.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
