Communication majors all around have always been kind looked down on and assumed that we just chose this major because we weren't "smart" enough to do biology or astrophysics. Not all of us can be a scientist of those sorts. But communication is a science on its own and we are our own type of scientist. Although we know we are where we belong, others are not so supportive of this major that we chose.
1. Don't you mean Communications?
Uhhhm it is actually just communication. And don't ask me again because I am 100 percent positive that there is no "s" at the end of my major, but in that case, aren't you studying nursings? Biologies? Educations? Didn't think so.
2. So basically just learn how to talk to people?
Not exactly, but obviously you need a crash course in common sense.
3. I bet it's super easy.
It's just the easiest. A monkey could so do it.
4. So what was the major you dropped for communication?
Uhh it's always been communication, but thank you for your concern and the uncomfortable feeling you just gave me.
5. When are you going to declare you REAL major?
Probably when you stop asking me dumb questions, so never.
6. So you never get homework.
We never get homework assignments ever. We just sit around and communicate all day about words.
7. What even is communication?
Sorry, super secret stuff only Comm majors allowed.
8. That degree is pretty worthless.
Alright, I'll make sure to tell Ellen DeGeneres how worthless her major was/is.
9. Can you even get a job with that?
Uh, I would hope so.
Comm majors do not get enough credit for the endless amount of work we do. We might not solve an equation in less than 30 seconds or cure cancer but our trade is valuable too. Please stop asking us what "real" job we can get with our major. We are more than capable and prepared to get a "real" job after we graduate.
