Christmas is a time where everyone seems to always be in a happier, cheerful mood. It’s the time of year when everyone celebrates the season of giving and receiving. With that comes some fun things you should partake in when this time of year comes around and lucky for you I have put together of a list of the best things to do in this wonderful Christmas season!

1. Christmas tree shopping

What is Christmas without a cute decorated tree? Nothing! Grab your family or a group of friends and go hunting for that perfect tree to decorate your dorm or your house!

2) Decorating the tree

Of course, you need wonderful accessories to make your tree unique and sparkle just like you! Grab some fun, shiny ornaments and go to town on your tree!

3. Decorating the house or dorm

Making your house or dorm look festive will put you in the Christmas mood so fast! You don’t need much, just put up a Christmas tree and little miscellaneous decorations everywhere and you have got yourself a fun, Christmas themed place to make your heart feel happy around the holidays!

4. Wrapping presents

Go out and get some fun wrapping paper to personalize every gift you give! Nothing is better than giving someone a gift they love! Also, taking old shoe boxes and wrapping in them festive paper to put under the tree can be a fun way to decorate!

5. Christmas Albums

Everyone has their favorite artist’s album to listen too and it is now that time to blast that album as loud as you can! My album of choice is the Michael Buble album and believe me it is a wonderful Christmas album to put you in the spirit! Grab your favorite album and spread some Christmas cheer for all the dorm to hear!

6) Hot chocolate/Starbucks red cup

We all know hot chocolate is the best drink to indulge in during the winter and the one thing that makes it better is the infamous Starbucks red cup! Even if you just buy it once to take a cute insta pic or snapchat, it is worth it and totally adds to the Christmas spirit!

7) Cookie bake

Grab your closest friends or family and tell everyone to pick their favorite cookie recipe with all the ingredients and everyone can bake massive amounts of cookies all on the same day! It is such a fun bonding experience and plus who doesn’t love cookies?!

8) Homemade Christmas cards

I don’t know about you guys but I love making Christmas cards by hand! Honestly, just putting a heartwarming message on a handmade card and giving it to a friend, family member, or stranger will be sure to brighten their day! Go ahead and give it a try and see what happiness you can bring others!

9) Zoo lights

In Arizona, every year the Phoenix Zoo puts on an awesome light show where they decorate the entire zoo and put lights up everywhere! If you are a first-time Arizonian or a local native, zoo lights is one of the top things to do in the Christmas season (perfect for a first date too fellas!)

Enjoy the Christmas season and remember to always love one another and spread Christmas cheer!

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
