Things I Can't Wait To Do In The Warmth

Winter weather is great but warm weather is pretty great too.

Things I Can't Wait To Do In The Warmth

The winter is an amazing time of year, but warmth is something that I love. I love the things you are able to do in the warmth unlike the cold. Warm days are what I look forward to after just a few days of cold, because why be cold when you can be warm. There are a few particular things I look forward to with the warmth on its way.

1. Sports

My favorite sports are played/ran in warm weather. Yes, it is fun to watch sports like hockey and basketball, but I would much rather be outside practicing for the game I love most which is football.

2. Working Outside

I am the kind of person that doesn’t take kindly to being indoors all the time. I can only work inside for a short period of time before I start thinking to myself that I need to go out and do something. I love working outside with my hands, so I can make things happen instead of just sitting inside waiting for things to happen.

3. Shooting Guns

Though there are shooting ranges you can go to that are indoors, outdoor shooting is much more fun. Shooting guns outdoors is not only more fun, but it is also a lot quieter. The only problem with shooting guns outdoors is when it gets cold so do your fingers making it harder and harder to shoot guns outside.

4. Swimming

Swimming when it is warm out is amazing. You get to cool off and you can also have some fun depending on where you are. At our home pool we have a little basketball hoop that we can shoot at. The hoop is fun and a good way to relax with friends and family. The best part of swimming is how it relieves all of your tension, because it relaxes your muscles and takes pressure off of your joints.

5. Bike Rides

Though I don’t go biking too much I have found in the past that sometimes you just need to take time to be on your own just riding around thinking. It also gives you time to just relax on your own.

6. Driving With The Windows Down

It may be something that is a little insignificant, but just cruising around with some friends and the windows down means you are in for a good time.

7. Mudding

This may be something that not many people do, but it’s fun throwing some mud every once in awhile. The only problem with mudding is the clean up afterwards, or you could just leave it on showing people your accomplishment of covering your truck in some mud.

8. Fires

Yes, it is already warm outside, but sitting by the fire with some friends is always a good way to have some fun and relax. Having a few s'mores by the fire is pretty great too.

9. BBQ

No matter who you are you can't say that you don't enjoy a good barbeque. Barbeque is something that everyone loves. It is even better when you have friends over to enjoy it with you outside.

Like I have said in the past winter is an amazing time but there are some pros when it gets warmer. Enjoy the things you do inside right now, but enjoy being outside as well when it gets warmer. I can’t wait for the day to come, and I hope you can’t either.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
