14 Things You Could Buy For The Same Price As A Gouged Notre Dame Ticket

Save your money or be a non-greedy Hokie and don't quadruple the price of your student ticket. C'mon, where's the Hokie Spirit in that?

14 Things You Could Buy For The Same Price As A Gouged Notre Dame Ticket

Hokies are claiming supply and demand for price gouging their student football tickets. Some students are trying to charge $200 for a ticket that they bought for $14 or even free in the lottery. Even if students charge $20, they would still make a profit but they know so many people want to go to the game so they cheat their fellow Hokies by charging an absurd amount.

Personally, I've had to buy a $60 student ticket for the Clemson game last fall from someone that I knew personally. That price is $46 more expensive than what they bought their ticket for!

So, here are things you could buy instead of an overpriced student ticket.

An iPhone X retails for $25 a month.

Go on a fun road trip instead of overpaying for a student ticket! If there is no demand for overpriced tickets then students will, hopefully, learn their lesson.

Buy a Virginia Tech football jersey to wear to the games you can actually afford.

Your textbooks for next semester

Save that money and keep it in your bank account so you can buy your textbooks to, you know, actually graduate.

A new laptop

Again, you can invest in furthering your education for a better price.

A TV

You can buy a television on sale and actually watch the game in HD in the comfort of your own home.

A ticket to a professional sporting event

I just went to an Atlanta Falcons game in Atlanta and it was cheaper than the $200+ that students are charging other students for a student section ticket.

A new pet

Buy a new puppy or kitten to ignore the very small fact that you're not going to the game. A game is over in a couple of hours but the happiness that a new pet brings goes on forever!

A new pair of shoes

You could buy a new pair of converse/sneakers to wear to walk from your tailgate to the stadium or to just wear during the week!

Game day food/drinks

Throw a party at your house for people protesting the idea of paying for expensive tickets and have a good time with your friends at your place instead of the packed stadium!

A new purse/wallet

You can buy a nice purse/wallet to hold all the money you'll be saving.

A nice dinner

Instagram

Go to a sports bar and enjoy the game with some good food instead of spending an absurd amount of money on the food at Lane.

Half of your rent

Instagram

You can save that money and have money for at least half of your rent next month. You, or your parents, will thank you.

A Virginia Tech parking pass for the semester

Lastly, you can even buy a Virginia Tech parking pass for the semester which will actually be cheaper.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective.
