8 Things You Say To Your BFF When Reuniting Over Summer Break

I always have so much to ask my best friend when I come home from college.

When it comes to being away from your best friend for over a month, it can feel like it's been FOREVER. I haven't seen my best friend in over two months because we go to colleges in different states. Here are the first couple of things I say whenever I see her for the first time after being away at school.

"I had so much to tell you but I forget what has happened these past three months because I'm so excited to see you!!"

This seems to happen every time I come home from college. I forget to tell her about the cool tea shop I found, the awesome grade I made on a project, or even about the huge earthquake.

"How is your family even though you haven't seen them either?"

I LOVE my best friend's family. They have always been there for me, as has she, so of course, I ask about them!! Considering she hasn't been home either, she doesn't usually know how they are either.

"Tell me about your friends!"

If she loves them, then I most likely would too!! I want to hear all about the people she's met!! Including the boys.

"Did you find any cool restaurants?"

Who doesn't like talking about food? Plus, college towns ALWAYS have the best food places.

"What do you even want to do this summer?"

Leaving your fun college town and coming back to your suburban hometown isn't exactly a thrill. It's hard to come up with things to do.

"What if I see that one person from high school?"

Doesn't everyone have that person that they want to avoid at all costs?

"Are there a lot of dogs on your campus?"

This is probably the most important question I've ever asked her.

"I miss you."

I feel like it's expected to go to college and meet amazing friends that you connect with just as much as you do with your hometown best friend, but you just don't. I always complain about how much I've missed my best friend when I needed a shoulder to cry on, I wanted someone to go eat with me so we can just talk, and someone to go on late night drives with. College has taught me several things, but one of the most important things is that my best friend cannot be replaced, even if I wanted to. Thank you for always being there for me through the uphill battles, BFF!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
