Despite of the divide in our country on various issues (one being our future President), I think we can all agree that we are thankful to have these things prevalent in our lives:
6. Access to central air and heating
Living in South Georgia means having to endure 90-100-degree weather for the majority summer. All I have to think about when I get home is hitting a button and cold air comes out. I often forget how many parts of the world are without this privilege.
5. Access to clean water and food
This is another vital necessity that so many countries are lacking that we often forget to be thankful for. I shower, wash my hands, drink water, and eat food without thinking twice about how fortunate I am to have them available.
4. The ability to access an unlimited amount of information
It’s incredible that you can google a question about a topic and have the answer in front of you in a matter of seconds. The government doesn’t restrict what kinds of books you can read, or stop you from receiving knowledge.
3. Education
I, along with many others am guilty of complaining about school. I always think "why do I have to go?" when I should be thinking how blessed I am to have an opportunity that so many are lacking.
2. Technology
From brewing your coffee in the morning to turning your lights off at night, technology is a key piece in how America functions. Without it, our country wouldn’t look the same
1. Freedom
The freedom to live where you want, speak what you want, and (for the most part) do what you want, is exclusive to Americans. It’s unfortunate that we often take these freedoms for granted because thousands of people have died to ensure them.
