I think it is safe to say that the really cold weather is finally behind us. Spring has officially sprung and I could not be any happier about it. I am so glad that I can put away my winter coat and finally bring out my sandals. At times it felt like this winter was never going to end, but April is upon us and the birds are chirping! The days of seeing people playing soccer in the quad and riding a bike to class are finally back! There is nothing quite like West Chester in the springtime. There is a buzz of energy on campus that is unlike anything else. Everyone is winding down for the semester and is feeling way more relaxed. That being said, I wanted to take a moment to recognize the wonderful things that make spring in West Chester so special.

1. Walking to class and not freezing to death

2. Not freezing when you're standing in line for Saloon

Because no one likes to be frolicking around anywhere when they're worrying about hypothermia.

3. Being able to step out onto the deck in the Rec Center

When you get to see West Chester from up there, you really understand how beautiful our campus is.

4. Laying in the quad with your friends

Nothing makes me happier than laying in the quad between classes.

5. Eating on Más' rooftop

Providing only the best view in West Chester. Some of my favorite memories are of sitting up here with my friends.

6. Making spontaneous trips to Let's Yo

It's so close and that is so dangerous for my health. But taking spontaneous trips here on Sunday nights with my friends is something that I will always cherish.

7. Seeing more dogs walking around campus

8. Hitting up Starbucks after class for an iced coffee

Thank you, Francis Harvey Green for having that Starbucks attached to you.

9. Getting food from the food trucks and being able to eat outside

The Lunchbox will forever have a special place in my heart.

10. Sitting outside and people watching on your porch

It would not be West Chester without the people yelling from their porches.

11. Seeing yellow and purple flowers bloom all over campus

Gotta love our school spirit. Seeing those flowers on campus instantly makes me happy.

12. Banana Day

My personal favorite day on campus. It's the most random day on Earth and that's what makes it so amazing. Plus it's always great to see how confused the Freshmen are.

13. Seeing something different happen in the quad each day and never knowing what to expect

14. Celebrating Cinco De May at Más

As far as places to celebrate Cinco de Mayo go, there is no better place than Más. With its rooftop bar and Mexican flare, it is the ideal place to spend the holiday.

15. D'Ascenzo's Gelato opening back up for the season

Best gelato in West Chester. Hands down. If you've never been, go now.

So there you have it. As the nice days become more frequent, I am more excited than ever to enjoy the sunshine and the springtime atmosphere of West Chester. So get outside and go play and enjoy these beautiful spring days.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
