Summer has officially ended and its time to look forward to the Fall/Winter. Grab your family and friends and spend some quality time exploring new activities.

1. Go Pumpkin Picking

I don't know about you but pumpkin picking brings back many memories from my childhood. Why not relive the wintry scent, vibrant colors, and go out and pick pumpkins? While you are looking for the perfect pumpkin, enjoy a hay ride and take pictures of the scary scarecrows.

2. Go Zip Lining

The Adventure Park at Long Island recently opened up. This place is great for climbing, learning how to zip line and for spending quality time. Learn to face your fears once and for all by zip lining or going on the different activities. They offer group prices as well as individual pricing per age group. Located in Wheatley Heights, NY.

3. Visit A Corn Maze

Another great activity perfect and just in time for Halloween season is the corn maze. Getting lost in a haunted corn maze with friends sounds ideal for the perfect Halloween night. 4. Rent A Cabin/Barn Upstate

Enjoy the winter season by taking a trip upstate. With a group of friends or family explore the different resorts. Whether your'e into sking or love hiking in the winter, explore the great outdoors.

5. Go To Fright Fest

The month of October would not be complete without a trip to Six Flags Great Adventure. Whether you have season passes or not, this event is one you cannot miss! The vibe is great, you have people dressed up ready for the Halloween spirit. Tons of activities and games, trick or treat trails, fright by night, etc. Exciting haunted mazes full of thrill.

6. Go Horseback Riding

Explore the different trails in the winter by horseback riding! Whether you're out upstate or are visiting the Pocano Mountains there will always be something to do. Prepare cautiously for this event as winters are cold and snows are heavy.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
