Coastal Carolina Baseball Won The College World Series

David Parrett score from third, Cody Ramer, Arizona’s second baseman tried to get Michael Paez running from second to third, but overthrew to Kyle Lewis. This making Paez come home. Following G.K. Young launched a homer into the stands above the right-field bullpen for a 4-0 lead.

Coastal Carolina won against Arizona 4-3 in the final game in the College World Series on Thursday night, on a game delay due to bad weather. Having to play the game two days coming out on top.

Andrew Beckwith (15-1) the national leader in wins pitched 5 2/3 of innings of The College World Series. He pitched two complete games while in the playoffs, this making this his third victory in The College World Series. All of the players had a spectacular night, including Alex Cunningham, earning a strike out against Arizona player Ryan Haung with a full-court fastball to end the game and have Coastal Carolina win The College World Series.

It has been a long journey for Coastal Carolina. They have played fantastic ball ever since they were in the playoffs. Their record was 55-18, the first team since Minnesota in 1956 that won the title of The College World Series. “It is the best feeling of my life.” G.K. Young told the reporters the night of their win.

The first year coach, Jay Johnson says “Amazing season, and they deserve the championship.” That would be the greatest complement any player could get from their coach after winning the Championship. Head coach of 21 years, Gilmore also commented that “Whenever he dies, I know the group of guys here, they willed themselves to be the national championship.”

Making it to the championship is a huge part of the player’s lives, they have been working hard to earn the position that they are in. player, Beckwith shares that, “It was a full team effort the whole College World Series, and we get it done.”

All of the coaches, all of the parents, all of the students and all of the fans of South Carolina Coastal Carolina are going to celebrate such a huge win, that they have deserved for years.

The Championship was also the first in a team sport in 33 year history of the Big South Conference. Also this past Friday the team became members of the Sun Belt Conference, which is a collegiate athletic conference that has been ben apart of the NCAA Division since 1976.

The players have so much love for each other and all of the fans that have supported them since the very beginning. They are going to go home with a big trophy and huge smiles on their faces. All threw the tournament they had fun, they didn’t take it to seriously, that I think is one reason they won the championship.

The team is going back to Conway, South Carolina with the first schools win of a national championship of any of the sports that are at Coastal, which is a big accomplishment.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
