Everyone needs the basics for school. You can't forget cleaning supply, shampoo and conditioner, hangers, storage bins and the list goes on. There's a few things though that no one tells you, you need but they can make your life so much easier.
1. HATS
I became a hat person after my first year of college. God blessed me with thick hair that will frizz so the hats came In handy. If I had/have to go workout I would put my hair in a ponytail and throw on a hat. If it was humid outside or it might possibly rain I would just throw a hat on. I didn't have to worry about a wasted hairstyle or my edges. Also if you're a curly girl a visor with a puff is poppin.
2. SLIDES
Yes i know your parents told you, you need to get some "walking shoes," but honestly slides are totally comfortable enough to walk around campus in. You look cuter than the people around you with big bulky tennis shoes too! I included them in the list because they make my life easier. And, if your slides are free of fur you can wear them on days that the weather is questionable because they won't get ruined like regular shoes.
3. KEYCHAINS
Coming from someone who lost their dorm key multiple times and had to pay for a lock change, Its best to just get a key chain. I like key chains that I can hook to my wallet or book sack with no problem. I never forget or lose my key now *fingers crossed*.
4. THICK WALLET
Thin MK Wrist-lets are cute and everything but they can't really hold much other than cards. I like using thick wallets especially the ones from Vera Bradley because they have a separate compartment for cards and change and whatever else you want in your wallet. Also if you are in class and mother nature visits you, you can slip a pad in the wallet- Since it actually can hold things- and go to the bathroom and return with no funny looks.
5. CALENDAR
If you're a busy person like me things can get over whelming. I've tried using my phones calendar and that was an epic fail. I never checked my phones calendar.
I tried using a little notebook but who has the time to be flipping through pages to get to what I need?! I feel like everything else can be digital but you need a real calendar. I like paper calendars and eraser board calendars; its all about what you prefer. Also if you do like using your phone and it works for you use it!
These are just a few things that i would suggest to any college student. I have a much longer list but these are the most important ones. If you do want to know more you can totally reach out to me on twitter @LeauxJohnson, or instagram @_.Leaux._
