1. The Global Education Office
Our UNM GEO offers plenty of opportunities for students to travel and study abroad, while paying their regular UNM tuition. GEO also offers the lobo friend program where you can help any exchange student feel like they are at home. Along with supporting all international students and their needs.
2. El Centro de la Raza
Event though El Centro is Hispanic-focused, its services are for all students on campus. La Raza offers all students free printing for students, the also offer situational scholarships for student in need. They offer study spaces and rooms for you to reserve by yourself or with a group of friends. And lastly, they offer “personalized graduation” for all students where you sign up for it and on graduation day, instead of only saying your name and degree, they say a little message of your choice like a thank you to your parents and friends or you can say what you were involved in during your years here at UNM.
3. National student exchange
NSE is a great way to widen your educational horizons inside the US, Canada, Puerto Rico and Guam. You can pick any university from the 160 offered and you can study there for a semester while paying you UNM tuition. You can do this program for a total of 4 semesters in different school or different states.
4. American Indian student services
Offers printing, faxing and copying services and a computer pod. They have Academic advisors and financial advisors to help you get through your semester smoothly. They also hold the Miss India pageant every year and they help raise money for all the scholarships that they offer. And finally, their services aren’t only offered and meant for Indian American Students.
5. Lobo Respect
I’m sure you have seen signs about it but lobo respect is our resource on campus for awareness. They focus on raising awareness about domestic violence, sexual assaults and rape crisis. They are the main resource that trains all other organizations about these social issues.
6. African American student services
Along with other organizations, they offer printing services and advising. They help promote all clubs and associations that are for African American students. They also have guest speakers to help students get through the semester and their busiest time is the black history month since they raise awareness and educate people about it by holding events every week.
7. The LGBTQ Resource Center
This resource center focuses on providing education and support to all students on campus. They have awareness days, free printing and computer access and free consoling. They also offer free HIV testing, unisexual restrooms, social events and volunteer opportunities.
7. Student Activates Center
Supervises all events held by ASUNM. They are located in the student union building and will help every student find the club or organization that they belong in. SAC also helps you charter a club, reactivate one or create your own. They also offer Mid weeks movies for only $2.
