QUOTE OF THE DAY
"Anything that even comes close to having chocolate in it, on it, around it, is pretty hard for me to resist." -- Hillary Clinton when asked by theSkimmwhat she would have the white house chef make for her first meal back. We agree Hillz. If elected, when should the American people expect an invite?

WHO ARE THE GENIUS MINDS BEHIND THESKIMM?
Danielle Weisberg and Carly Zakin launched theSkimm in 2012 with their goal of making “it easier to be smarter.” The two NYC roommates met studying abroad and Rome while in college at Tufts and the University of Pennsylvania. Weisberg and Zakin’s parents Parents instilled values to become news junkies. Some of their familial hobbies included watching The Today Show every morning, reading the New York Times before bed, and watching Sixty Minutes on Sunday evenings. Their friends constantly inquired on the daily news from Weisberg and Zakin. The two women were their friends' primary news sources. The women would joke that someday they would turn this into something, but they had no idea what that would be until years later.
WHAT WERE ZAKIN AND WEISBERG IMAGINING?
Carly Zakin told Into The Gloss, “We wanted to create a news source that really spoke to smart, busy people and gave them their news in a way that fit in to their routine.”
The website’s ‘About Us' section describes the purpose of theSkimm best, “We soon realized three things: Reading the news is time consuming; Wanting to read the news is a hobby; lastly, not everyone has the time or interest. theSkimm solves all that and makes it easier to be smarter.”
DID THESKIMM MEET EXPECTATIONS?
Michelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Oprah are among its readers. The newsletter has been featured in Forbes, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, Vogue, The Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, and likely your morning inbox.
