There's been a lot of trends that made it's way into the limelight in 2016. As we all know, 2016 was a year of L's. Losses after losses. But fashion has also taken some L's of it's own. Below are five fashion trends that need to DIE in 2017.
1. Completely see through tops
What is the point of this? A top is supposed to, you know, cover your top. This trend has completely failed at its purpose. What's the point of putting on a top if everyone can see your goodies anyway?
2. "Boot Pants" or Boots as Pants
How? When? Why? The first problem is that these boots (or pants) are extremely overpriced. The pair in this picture above are from Nastygal.com and they are named the "Jeffrey Campbell Maven Thigh- High Boot" and get this, they cost a whopping $225.00. $225.00 for boots that may or may not be pants? Yeah, I think I'll pass on that. Besides once you buy them and wear them, how do you go to the bathroom in them? Do you completely take off the boot or walk around thinking "To pee or not to pee?"
3. Plastic Boots
Ever since Kim K. and Kylie Jenner have been walking around in plastic boots the cover nothing, it has become a trend. Let me explain to you why this trend needs to die. 1. It's plastic shoes. 2. Its plastic shoes. and 3. IT'S PLASTIC SHOES. How can your feet not be burning up in LA's hot weather or if you where them somewhere cold, how can your feet not be freezing? These offer no sense of comfort or stability and to be frank, they're just plain ugly. Keep the plastic boots where they belong: In 2016.
4. Oversized Chokers
You know what this remind me of? A dog collar. Don't get me wrong, I love chokers. But when they start to look like a neck brace, a dog collar, or some Fifty Shades of Grey stuff gone wrong, it's time to pack it up and go. Now, I'm not saying completely leave chokers in 2016. Only the one's that look like you're wearing a neck brace or a dog collar.
5. Sneaker Wedges
Just like the plastic boots, these are just plain ugly. Besides, sneakers are supposed to be comfortable. Why sacrifice that comfort by adding a wedge. They look big and bulky and resemble Ronald McDonald feet. Please, do yourself a favor and let them go.
If you agree with these trends and you think they should die in 2017, then stand up and fight for the cause. Fashion can't afford to take any L's this year and nether can you!
