It is always important to note that everyone's skin is different. So the products listed below are products that I find work with my skin the best. What type of skin do I have? I pretty much have fairly normal skin, but where people are most oily, (in their T-zone) that's where I am most dry. So that means I find dryness on and around my nose, between my eyebrows, and a little bit on my forehead. As for my complexion, I am White, but I have a yellow toned base to my skin. Some White people have a pink base, others have an orange base, I have a yellow base. So here are the beauty products I am currently using, and loving. All the products are linked to where you can buy them, and most of them link to Ulta.
This list goes in order from how I actually put the products on..
1. Moisturizer - CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion AM with SPF 30
This product was recommended to me by a friend, whose dermatologist said that this was the stuff to use. It has SPF in it which is great, and for someone that has fairly dry skin, this is an absolute must.
2. Foundation - Fiona Stiles Luminous Finish Foundation Concentrate, L'oreal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup, Maybelline Fit me Dewy & Smooth Foundation
All of these foundations create a very natural look, and I have not found anything wrong with any of these products. The Fiona Stiles foundation is a rather new product in general (or at least to Ulta), and gives off the most natural look of the other two listed above. The other two give off a more dewy look, especially the FIT Me foundation. This is good for me because my skin does not naturally give off any sort of glow (due to the dryness), so I’m always looking for a good foundation that can simulate that.
3. Eye Primer - Benefit Cosmetics Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer - Neutral Yellow Tone
I only got a little sample of this when I went to the Benefit store, but I am seriously considering purchasing this product. It does a great job at color correcting when priming (especially good for me since I have noticeable veins on my right eye due to an accident when I was younger), and my eye shadow seriously stays on longer. It’s a great product.
4. Eye Shadow Palettes - theBalm Nude 'tude, Lorac Pro Palette, Morphe 35T Palette
For as long as I can remember, whenever I used eye shadow, I always went to golds. I just think that color looks so good with brown eyes. All three of these palettes have some beautiful golds, but I especially love the Morphe palette. Its just everything you could possibly want out of an eye shadow palette.
Concealer has never been that big of a deal to me. It took me a while to understand how to use it. But I found that these two are concealers I consistently go back to (I’m on my second bottle of the Rimmel concealer).
6. Powder - RCMA No-Color Powder
This is a relatively new find for me as of about 6 months ago. But oh-my-goodness, this stuff is the best. I only use it under my eyes, because the last thing I want to do is mattify the glow that my foundation is giving. But I never see any cakey-ness under my eyes, and the amount of product you get for $10 is unreal.
7. Eye Liner (for cat eye purposes) - Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
Kat Von D’s tattoo liner is seriously so precise, that it is very hard to mess up a cat eye. But that’s really when I only use it. Recently I have just been using a black eye shadow on a small brush in lieu of eye liner -- that way I know it won’t smudge during the day, and it also gives a more subtle effect that I’m usually looking for during the day time.
8. Mascara - Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
This stuff is THE BEST. My holy grail mascara. I’m on my second bottle. This stuff does everything I want a mascara to do. It extends my lashes, it makes them darker, it gives them volume… its just absolutely great.
9. Bronzer - Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer and Bahama Mama Bronzer
The butter bronzer just gives that perfect amount of color that you probably lost when putting on your foundation. The best thing about the bronzer is that it smells like coconuts, which is such an added bonus. I have been using Bahama Mama for a while, and while it is a very dark bronzer, if you use a light hand, it is great for contouring cheek bones.
10. Blush - Milani Luminoso Blush
I have probably been using this blush for about a year now, and it really just gives the perfect subtle color and a little bit of a glow. It's not super powdery and it has lasted me for a while.
11. Highlighter - Laura Geller Gilded Honey, MAC Strobe Cream, Benefit High Beam
I'm a big fan of highlighters, and all three of these are pretty great. I see the best results with the MAC strobe cream, but I've just been using a sample product that I got a while ago, and I don't know if I'm ready to spend $33 on highlighter (although that product would last a while).
12. Lipstick - NYX Euro Trash and Buxom Full-on Lipstick in Brooklyn
These two lipsticks are my perfect matte nude lipsticks. I also prefer lipsticks that fade gradually, compared to lipsticks that fade and leave a ring around the perimeter of your lips.
