There Should Be No Such Thing As A "Bikini Ready" Body

With summer rolling around, swimsuits and shorts coming out of the closet and the "get the bikini body" ads coming up all over social media platforms, it can be very overwhelming.

There is always this pressure whenever summer is about to approach. People start shuffling into the gym and squeezing in workouts to get the body that is "beach-ready" and "Instagram" worthy.

Trust me, I get it.

You want to feel confident, and going to the gym can be a part of that process, which is so awesome. Working towards your health with exercising is always beneficial. But I believe that every single body is beach ready and Instagram worthy.

No matter what size, weight, or height you may be, you are beautiful. Show off the cellulite and the stretch marks; it shows that you are a living human being. These are all natural parts of our body that we shouldn't try to hide.

Show off all your curves because you were perfectly made this way. All of the beautiful parts of you make you so unique.

Because honestly, what is a "bikini-ready" body? What we see on TV or on the front of stores? What society is portrayed as the right "bikini-ready" body?

Hell no, women are beautiful in every form. To have society show us that the only way we should be is skinny and toned with a six-pack is not what we should be following.

We should be following the path of feeling good in our own skin, loving ourselves entirely, and showing it all off in any way we want. Do you want to wear a one-piece? Go ahead. You want to wear a bikini? Go ahead.

It is your damn life and your damn body.

How you choose to flaunt it is all up to you but, trust me, you got a body that is worth showing off.

So take a million Instagram pictures and show your body off in any way you want. Just remember to love yourself and know that you are beautiful and perfect the way that you were made.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
